Welcome to Grace Episcopal Church

Where Street and Altar Meet

Join us for worship each Sunday morning at 10:30 no matter where you’re from, who you love, or what you wear

Grace Episcopal Church Woodlawn was established as Calvary Mission in 1889 and organized as a parish in 1890. The current site was purchased in February 1890 and a wood-framed meeting house erected on the present site by the congregation of about 18 families. The church was admitted to the diocese as a parish on May 22, 1902. The present sandstone building was completed in 1927. Three stained glass windows behind the altar were installed in 1954. The parish hall was built in 1959 and an education and office wing, Henckell Hall, was added in 1974.

Grace Episcopal Church is a fully inclusive, unconditionally loving parish in the Anglo-Catholic tradition. We worship God in the beauty of holiness and share the love of Christ through service in the Woodlawn community and the world.

Our mission can be summarized by four values modeled by Jesus Christ:

How You Can Help

Ministry work is integral to living a Christ-centered life, and that’s been the heart of Grace. We always need enthusiastic volunteers for church services and outreach ministries.

What People Say

This is a church that will welcome anybody at all. I only want to attend a church that will fully accept me and anyone I know – straight, gay, black, white – even my biker friends would be accepted here at Grace.

I am inspired every Sunday to participate in our beautiful, holy and life-giving service.”

I love that we have made inclusion and hospitality a central part of our worship.
